【テーマ: Spring】Spring Songs

What do you come up with when hearing “Spring”? In Japan, Spring symbolizes the farewell, and something new, the beginning. That is because the school and business year is over on 31th March and because it begins in April. Getting an idea from this symbol, many singer-songwriters have composed new songs expressing ‘Spring’. I would like to introduce my two favourite songs related to this wonderful season.

“Wataridori” (Eng: Migratory Bird) by [Alexandros]

This was released on 2015 and have been listened to in some commercials. The powerful and impressive melody represents someone to progress more and more as migratory birds upswing.

“Sakura” (Eng: Cherry Blossoms) by Kobukuro

This was released on 2005 and won the gold in the 47th Japan Record Award.

The story of the lyrics is about the separation. Many people have heard Kobukuro, a pair of male singers, singing this, however, some of them also knows this as one for a chorus. In Japanese school, there are some occasions to chorus such as ceremonies, festivals and competitions. I also sang this song with my classmates in the school chorus competition. It was difficult for me to sing it perfectly with dozens of classmates. That was why I got a feeling of achievement at having chorused well after the competition.

If you read this and got interested, you should listen to these songs!
